Search launched for next College of Veterinary Medicine dean

The University of Florida has launched a national search for the next dean of the UF College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. J. Scott Angle, Senior Vice President for Agriculture and Natural Resources at UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), will chair the committee, supported by UF Human Resources’ Strategic Talent Group.

In January 2026, after 24 years of impactful leadership at the University of Florida, UF Health and UF/IFAS, including the past six as dean at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine, Dana Zimmel, D.V.M., DACVIM, announced her decision to retire from her role as dean at the end of 2026.
