Rescue horse now on track for better life

Although the journey has been long and painful for a rescued 2-year-old quarter horse named “Baby Girl,” the gentle filly is now recovering well, thanks to successful surgery Oct. 11 at UF’s Large Animal Hospital and an ongoing regimen of advanced medical therapy.

Laser therapy helps dogs with disc disease

The use of lasers in veterinary medicine is not new, but UF veterinarians are now using the procedure postoperatively with great success in dogs with paralysis caused by intervertebral disc disease.

New high-tech auditorium unveiled

The college unveiled a new, high-tech auditorium in a grand opening dedication held Aug. 19. The facility will enhance teaching and learning opportunities for students and faculty.

First laser lithotripsy performed at UF SAH

A 9-year-old Chihuahua recently became the first patient at the UF Small Animal Hospital to receive a procedure known as laser lithotripsy to remove a stone lodged in his urethra.
