A Message From The Dean
The UF College of Veterinary Medicine is dedicated to providing a diverse community within the college where everyone feels safe, heard, respected and valued for the talents and diversity they bring.
Our Dean’s Council has worked diligently to identify three top priorities that will lead our charge as we continue to create a college that celebrates and encourages diversity and inclusion.
- Priority 1: Provide diversity and inclusion training for faculty, staff and students, as well as our residents, interns, and technicians at the UF Veterinary Hospitals
- Priority 2: Define and create a clear organizational structure for our diversity and inclusion efforts
- Priority 3: Increase our efforts in pipeline development to establish systems to encourage diversity and inclusion
We continue to promote these priorities through a variety of initiatives that include: trainings, resources, events, speakers, policies, and the recruitment and retention of a committed student body, faculty and staff.
Together, we are the change agents creating the future of veterinary medicine. We are the leaders in our communities who must advocate for fairness and equality. We must continue to be the mentors for underrepresented minorities who must have access to opportunities. The work we have to do is exciting and ongoing and we encourage you to visit this page often for links and updates.
