(l to r) Dr. Chris Adin alongside CVM staff members Christine Best, Lashand Williams, Amy Meacham and Oscar Hernandez Maldonado at the Staff Service Recognition Program ceremony Feb. 4.

Four CVM faculty and seven staff who reached significant milestones in their employment at the university were honored as part of UF’s 2026 Service Recognition Program at special receptions at the Earl and Christy Powell University House on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4, respectively.

Leading the way for CVM, Dr. Mary Brown, professor of infectious diseases and immunology, and Theresa Medrano, recently retired biological scientist in physiological sciences, both celebrated an incredible 40 years at UF in 2025.

The university’s recognition program honors years of continuous service milestones in five-year increments, and those dedicated employees who’ve devoted 25-50 years of continuous service to UF were invited by UF Human Resources Vice President Melissa Curry to the recognition reception.

Honorees were treated to breakfast, a short program and presented commemorative plaques from Curry, UF President Donald Landry, M.D., Ph.D., and Provost Joe Glover, Ph.D., to celebrate their achievements and contributions to the university’s mission.

While not all CVM faculty and staff could attend their respective ceremonies, we celebrate their tremendous accomplishments with the college, hospital and greater UF community.
