Is the hospital open 24 hours a day for emergencies?
The Large Animal Hospital is open afterhours on an emergency basis. We operate 24 hours a day with a full staff.
How long can I expect to wait when I arrive?
When you arrive with a foal our team will be standing by to recieve your animal - there is no wait for neonatal emergencies.
How do I receive a copy of my medical record?
Contact Client Services Department to request copies of medical records by dialing the following numbers (352) 392-2229.
Medical Records staff will indicate the charges for processing photo copies and they will fax and/or mail a Release of Information consent form to you to be completed prior to processing your request for photo copies of your medical records.
Who works on my animal?
A dedicated team consisting of board-certified specialists; residents and interns (who are graduate veterinarians undergoing additional training in a specialty area); third and fourth-year veterinary students (who work under the direct supervision of our faculty); veterinary nurses and veterinary technicians. Our foal unit also has volunteers who will sit with your foal to provide extra care and attention.
