Internship and Residency Programs

Welcome Interns and Residents

The College of Veterinary Medicine is proud to say that the University of Florida has a well established residency & internship programs covering most specialties in veterinary medicine. These programs are tightly structured for our interns and residents in which they are taught state-of-the-art medicine, surgery, and diagnostic techniques by its board certified faculty.

The main objective of the internship program is to provide a well rounded clinical experience that will serve as a bridge for a residency or a state of the practice. The main objectives of the residency are to provide superior instruction that will make the resident clinically competent, prepare the resident for board specialty requirements and a successful result on the certification examination, and to hopefully inspire them for a career in academic veterinary medicine.

We participate in the Veterinarian Internship/Residency Matching Program (VIRMP) unless otherwise stated.
