Visiting Practitioner Program
The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences (SACS) at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine offers an innovative continuing education program for the practitioner. The Visiting Practitioner Program provides the practitioner the opportunity to participate in the daily clinical operation and teaching programs of the University of Florida Veterinary Medical Center. Participation and observation is offered in a variety of clinical rotations including: Cardiology, Dermatology, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Small Animal & Community Medicine, Small Animal Surgery, and Zoological Medicine. The practitioner may also attend regularly scheduled seminars, journal clubs, and faculty and student rounds. These activities are scheduled as follows:
Monday 8 - 9 a.m. Various Service Meetings
Tuesday 8 - 9 a.m. Resident Rounds
Wednesday 8 - 9 a.m. Student or Resident Rounds
Thursday 8 - 9 a.m. Special Topic Seminars/Rounds
Friday 8 - 9 a.m. Resident Pathophysiology Seminars
Credit
One unit of continuing education credit is awarded for each contact hour spent in the program.
Cost
The registration fee is $500 per week or $125 per day. The participant is responsible for all travel, lodging and meals.
