Laboratory Services Provided by the Department

Department faculty provide laboratory services while practicing their veterinary medical specialties in the University of Florida Veterinary Medical Center and by performing laboratory investigative and diagnostic specialty procedures in other Department laboratories.

Anatomic Pathology Service

Department board-certified pathologists provide diagnostic pathology support to clinicians in the Veterinary Medical Center as well as to practicioners and animal producers throughout the State of Florida and the Southeast in the areas of:

  • Surgical Pathology
  • Dermatopathology
  • Necropsy Pathology
  • Pathology of Exotic Animals

Clinical Microbiology, Parasitology and Serology Service

Department faculty provide oversight and consultation in the UF Veterinary Medical Center in clinical microbiology and parasitology.

Mycoplasma Research Laboratory

Bovine and tortoise mycoplasma testing procedures are provided by the lab. See submission and procedure forms in the left-hand column.
