CVM Alumni Affairs

The Class of 2008 graduated May 2008. Eighty-five new doctors took the "Veterinarian's Oath." This is the 28th class to graduate, bringing the total of alumni to 2,218 DVMs.

In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that we with you the recent passing of an alumni, Dr. Jeff Philpot, Class of 1983.  He had a long battle with pancreatic cancer and passed awary November 2, 2008.  Philpot and his family lived in the Gainesville/Newberry area and he established Newberry Animal Hospital.

The college also mourns the loss for beloved former marine mammal service chief, Dr. Deke Beusse.  Dr. Beusse passed awary in October from bladder cancer.  He was recognized for his veterinary contributions at the recent FVMA Conference in October 2008.  Beusse and his family lived in Rabun, Georgia.
